Overwhelming Participation and Generosity

Grace Church Youth and Families ministries would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the community of Old Saybrook and the surrounding areas for its overwhelming participation and generosity with our Winter Coat Drive.

Several hundred winter coats were donated by the community at the Old Saybrook Town Hall, the Acton Library, and at Grace Church. Thanks go to the town of Old Saybrook and the Acton Library for allowing us to use their locations to place our donation bins. And a special thanks goes to the intern who wrapped the boxes for us!

Some of the coats were donated at the Shoreline Soup Kitchen’s annual Thanksgiving Day meal, which happened to be a bitter and cold day. In addition, coats were donated at the Old Saybrook Social Service Help Days. The remaining coats will be donated to Madonna House in Norwich and to the Salvation Army to help those in need of a winter coat.

We can’t thank donors enough for their kindness and for helping keep others warm this winter. We hope to see everyone again next year.
