As Madison Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) enters its 10th year of serving the Madison community, I would like to express my gratitude to our Madison neighbors for their support in helping us to make a difference in the lives of so many Madison families. It is their support that has enabled us to help folks stay in their homes, warm their families, keep the lights on, and avoid a crisis that could result in homelessness.
The Madison Neighbor to Neighbor Fund is an emergency fundraising program started at the beginning of 2009 by concerned members of the Madison community. It distributes grants to Madison residents for food, housing, oil, gas, electric, and other emergency needs.
All of our donations go to aid families and individuals meeting the requirements for assistance, as determined by Madison Youth & Family Services or Madison Senior Services.
Along with offering subsidized lunches at the Senior Center, N2N also supplies non-food personal items to the food pantry and provides scheduling of N2N volunteers, who deliver pantry items to the homebound on a weekly basis.
As we approach the holidays, I would like to thank all of the individuals, organizations, and businesses that have contributed to Neighbor to Neighbor.
We hear news reports that describe a recovering economy, but there are many among us who still suffer.
I encourage any members of our Madison community who need any type of critical assistance to contact Wendy Larson at Madison Youth & Family Services or Heather Noblin at Madison Senior Services to see if they qualify for any of our N2N assistance programs. All inquiries are confidential.
The goal of N2N is to make a positive difference in the lives of Madison families in crisis.
Thanks to all of our caring neighbors, we are able to make that difference.
