Work Toward the Common Good

I support Madeleine Leveille for state representative for the 35th District, which includes Clinton, Killingworth, and part of Westbrook. This Green Party candidate knows how to make sense of complicated and serious issues. Madeleine will address the Connecticut economy in a sensible way. She believes in fair share taxation, not regressive taxation. She believes in dealing with the state’s long-term liabilities head-on. She wants decisions based on realistic estimates of interest rates state monies will earn, not based on wishful thinking.

Madeleine will promote small businesses because research has shown that, compared to large multi-national companies, small businesses have a greater effect in terms of revenue and jobs kept within the state. She wants to create a state bank to keep Connecticut money in Connecticut and to provide loans to Connecticut businesses. She wants Connecticut to develop businesses devoted to renewable energy. Madeleine wants the state government to use scientifically based strategies to improve efficiency.

Madeleine knows how to make decisions based on hard data. She is not afraid to tackle difficult issues, and she can devise long-term solutions to the state’s economy that will be fair and reasonable. Madeleine has brought people together who hold different political views to work toward the common good. For me, Madeleine Leveille is the people’s candidate, and I encourage your readers to look at her platform on Facebook and make their decision to vote for her.
