Will Be a Fierce Advocate

I am excited to recommend Christine Cohen to represent us as our state senator in the 12th District. Christine offers us a new, strong voice in government at a time when our rights and values are under attack every day. She will be a fierce advocate for women’s rights and set a positive, respectful tone in Hartford.

I am a long time Madison resident and local realtor. I want my representative to fight for all that makes our community unique and a special place to live. Christine will follow in State Senator Ted Kennedy, Jr.’s footsteps as a strong advocate for our beaches and green space. Her many years of community service, from being a PTO leader up to her election to the Guilford Board of Education, illustrate her commitment to the public schools, a major asset to attracting people to our community.

As a member of the Economic Development Commission, I was pleased to have an opportunity to hear from our candidates for State Senate about their plans to improve the business environment. Christine was quite clear on the need to grow our economy while also improving efficiencies and reducing red tape for small businesses. She understands the need to strengthen our transportation infrastructure in order to support our current businesses and attract new ones. As the owner and creator, with her husband, of Cohen’s Bagels, she knows what it takes to balance a budget and keep overheads down.

Christine hopes to reform Hartford to make it work for all of us. She will work hard to keep Connecticut affordable for families and seniors alike without abandoning those in need.
