Understands the Struggle

It’s my pleasure to support Christine Cohen, Democratic Candidate for the 12th State Senatorial District. You may know her from her small business, Cohen’s Bagels, or perhaps her strong commitment to education through her elected position on the Guilford Board of Education.

Given the difficult financial shape of Connecticut, she has a vision of providing more revenue to the state through removing barriers to small business, improving transportation initiatives, and supporting our repair of infrastructure. Increased revenues are needed in our state by especially supporting businesses that are under 500 employees. She has recommended removing the business entity tax as one of the barriers to small business.

She has shown a sensitivity to the young workers, families, and the elderly. For the young workers, she supports the goal of $15 per hour minimum wage. She has heard the families that need reassurance that their legislature will support pre-existing conditions for health care. She understands the struggle of the elderly who want to remain in their homes without fears of rising property taxes. She has been in favor of a public option for health care to improve the stability of the work force.

She has been endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters because of her longstanding efforts in sustainability of our shoreline resources. As a candidate who has taken a stand against ghost guns, she has earned the endorsement of Moms Demand Action group.

For the reasons above, I encourage your readers to vote for Christine Cohen as our State Senator for the 12th District on Nov. 6.
