Smart, Competent Leadership

I support Christine Alice Palm for state representative of the 36th House Assembly District (Essex, Deep River, Chester, and Haddam). These times demand elected officials who are up for the job and who display critical qualities of leadership.

I recently attended a local debate sponsored by Essex and Brainard libraries, and heard Christine discuss issues central to her campaign. She demonstrated a depth of knowledge and experience in response to questions, as well as providing innovative solutions to the problems facing Connecticut. She offered creative approaches to bring new business and job opportunities into the state, and also addressed the importance of improving state infrastructure to promote economic growth in Connecticut.

Christine is a strong advocate for small business, but she also supports an increase in the minimum wage, which will help working families and put more money back into the economy. She also supports equal pay for women and has worked at the State Capital to develop legislative policies to protect women from sexual harassment in the workplace.

During the debate, Christine also spoke about quality education in the river towns, the value of safeguarding arts programs for the young, being an advocate for seniors, and protecting the natural resources in the Connecticut River Valley. Christine Palm is an impressive candidate who will represent our towns with smart, competent leadership.

I am confident that she has the experience and creative thinking to address the many challenges facing Connecticut.
