Great Day of Community Participation

The Ivoryton Library Board of Trustees and I would like to thank all our participants in the 2018 Ivoryton Pumpkin Chase held on Oct. 20. The rainy weather held off and the cheer of our runners certainly brightened the day. This year’s field was one of our largest and fastest ever. It was great to see so many members of our greater community come out to support our small but important library!

We would like to express a special thank you to our lead sponsors, Norm Needleman and Jacqui Hubbard, once again for their generous support year in and year out. The Spa of Essex and Bell Power Systems were also very kind in their sponsorship.

We appreciate the cooperation of several other community organizations and individuals including John Matthiesson and the Essex Land Trust, Chris Palatto of the Valley Shore YMCA, and Ivoryton resident Geoff Matesky, who lent his wonderful voice, time, and equipment to enhance our runners’ experience on race day. Officer Todd Belcourt and the Essex police helped to coordinate traffic and kept our runners safe. Our event could not be run without the efficiency and kindness of the aforementioned.

In all it was a great day of community participation and we are truly grateful.
