Best Interests at Heart

I was up in the air on whom to vote for because I usually always vote straight Democrat, but this election, in the state representative race, I have made the decision to vote to re-elect Devin Carney (R-23).

As a recent graduate from Southern Connecticut State University in its master of social work program, I met with Devin before I graduated to discuss my concerns and I felt like he truly listened. I could tell he cared about my ideas as a student and as an aspiring social worker. It’s refreshing to see that from a politician, especially in this day and age.

Devin hasn’t gone negative this campaign, which I like because it seems that those running for office care more about tearing down their opposition than promoting their own ideas. Devin wants Connecticut to be more affordable and to provide greater opportunity.

I know Devin has the best interests of residents at heart and I hope everyone—Democrat, Republican, or unaffiliated—votes for him not because of his party, but because he is a good man committed to doing the right thing.
