Beholden to No One

On Nov. 6, I will be voting for Attorney William Bilcheck as the next Madison/Guilford District probate judge. I have known Attorney Bilcheck as a friend, attorney, sports coach, and community volunteer for almost 25 years. He has 30 years of legal experience in both civil and probate cases. He has the experience and knowledge to handle any probate issue or individual that may come before him as our probate judge.

A probate judge must understand that those constituents that come before him are on an emotional roller coaster and most vulnerable. Attorney Bilcheck is both a compassionate and caring individual. As our next probate judge, he will carefully listen to the parties present their positions, interpret and apply both common sense and the law at hand, and then make a ruling with compassion and clarity.

Attorney Bilcheck sat on Madison’s Planning & Zoning Commission (PZC) for 15 years. He was fair and impartial when both the applicant and public appeared before the PZC, especially when hearing hot-topic applications. Never did he allow politics to come into play. He was beholden to no one but the best interest of the town.

If he was able to practice law, chair the PZC for eight years, coach every sport imaginable, and raise four great kids at the same time, he has proven himself worthy of the role of probate judge. He is a good guy—God bless him!
