A Right, Not an Option

On Nov. 6, I will be emphatically voting for Christine Cohen for state senator as she believes that all people should have access to affordable medical insurance and healthcare.

Everyone would agree that without good health, little can follow. One is unable to adequately fulfill necessary societal roles when sick. Parents can’t parent, children can’t learn, seniors can’t independently care for themselves, workers can’t work. It should make sense, then, that health insurance and healthcare be considered basic necessities for life. We should all have the ability to easily access health care for ourselves, our aging parents, our young children, and our families in order to succeed. This shouldn’t even be a question, let alone a political issue.

Unfortunately, for many folks without adequate health insurance, difficult choices must at times be made. The cost of one necessary prescription may obliterate the budget for groceries. This just shouldn’t be. I am completely confident that Christine Cohen will amplify the voice of all of her District 12 constituents and fight to ensure that affordable healthcare is a right and not an option.

I hope your readers will join me in voting for Christine Cohen for State Senate for District 12!
