The Right Priorities

As a retired nurse, I like to see what candidates are doing for healthcare. Devin Carney, our state representative, has championed legislation that has improved healthcare in terms of both transparency and access.

Prescription drug costs are often astronomical. Devin supported legislation that will require more pricing transparency to consumers, so they can make more informed decisions. He also co-sponsored legislation that gives women affordable access to advanced mammography screenings that can better detect breast cancer, especially in the early stages when it is easier to treat.

He was a leader in restoring the Medicare Savings Program for seniors and supported expanding health benefits to more of our veterans who have experienced PTSD.

Devin has the right priorities in place and I am confident he will continue to stand up for common sense and realistic improvements to healthcare. He’s got my vote on Nov. 6 and I hope your readers will support him, too.
