The Common-Sense Voice

As the chairman of the Old Saybrook Board of Finance, I worry about how state policy will affect Old Saybrook’s bottom line. Some proposals I have heard come from legislators in Hartford include passing teacher’s retirement costs onto municipalities, creating a new statewide car tax, and implementing a new statewide property tax.

Fiscally responsible small towns, like Old Saybrook, deserve a representative who will look out for their interests and that’s why I am supporting Devin Carney for re-election. Devin has proven that he will stand up to anyone and everyone who propose schemes that will result in higher taxes, costs, and mandates on the people he represents. He successfully helped defeat all of these terrible proposals and kept Hartford’s hands out of our pockets.

He’s been the common-sense voice of the people in Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, and Westbrook. If your readers want a dedicated advocate for our communities, who will put us above party politics, state unions, and special interests, then they need to vote for Devin Carney on Nov. 6.
