Serious and Committed

We are now all well aware that elections have consequences, and the results of the upcoming election will determine how we move forward to solve the problems we face. On the state level, we have significant fiscal issues. Our infrastructure is in need of significant upgrading, and our environment and public lands need protection. These are serious problems, and we need to elect serious and committed legislators to help solve them.

With all that is at stake, there is a surge by once-complacent citizens like us to try to strengthen our democracy, and there are some bright lights to which we are drawn. One of those shining stars is Christine Cohen, Democratic candidate for state senator in the 12th District. We met Christine at a meet-and-greet, and she impressed us in many ways.

As a member of the Guilford Board of Education, she has an obvious commitment to public service. As a small business owner, she understands the challenges that these business owners face as we try to attract them to Connecticut and the shoreline area. She is concerned about our environment as well as the education of all of Connecticut’s children. Christine demonstrated a deep understanding of the complex issues that confront us, an ability to listen to those around her, and a willingness to answer questions directly.

We are writing this to encourage people to vote on Nov. 6 and to support Christine Cohen as a candidate for state senator in the 12th District. Let’s do what we can to elect those who are seriously committed to solving the challenges that confront us.
