Keep Clinton Safe and Healthy

It’s time to clean out all unwanted medication from our homes! As we are aware, addiction to prescriptions has reached epidemic levels and it is imperative that we work together to reduce the number of available medications in our community. By cleaning out all unused medications from their cabinets and having them safely disposed of, your readers help Clinton to be safer and healthier. Across the U.S., 47 percent of teens who have taken pills that were not prescribed to them report that they accessed medications from their parents’ or other family member’s medicine cabinet. Additionally, adults who have become addicted to medications have supported their disease by stealing pills from others. Let’s prevent this from happening in our town.

On Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clinton Police Department, Partners in Community and the Clinton Police Department will host a Medication Take-Back event. Bring unused medications (pet meds, too) for safe, anonymous, and free disposal. Those with medications that are expired or just unwanted may bring them in their original bottles (they can even leave the labels on) to the Take Back event and know that they are doing their part to keep Clinton safe and healthy.
