Ideas Are Realistic

As unaffiliated voters, we like to see where the candidates stand on issues we care about before making our minds up on Election Day. To us, State Representative Devin Carney (R-23) has the right priorities, the right experience, and the right ideas to improve our state. We have seen the state we love go down the wrong path for far too long.

Devin’s ideas on the economy are realistic because, when you are billions in deficit, you can’t propose new expensive programs that will only further burden the state. Just like we do at our home, we can’t spend what we don’t have.

Devin knows that people are seriously questioning their futures here because of the high cost-of-living and the out-of-control taxes. When you look at Connecticut versus other states, you find a state with one of the most burdensome tax structures for both businesses and individuals. These costs are especially hard on seniors, like us, and a big reason why so many seniors have become residents of others states for six months and a day. It’s clear this must change and Devin knows that new taxes won’t improve the situation.

We trust Devin will always focus on making Connecticut more affordable and will always look to find ways to improve our fiscal crisis without adding new costs. He’s got our vote and we hope he has your readers’, too.
