Please Support Your Community News Site's COVID Coverage

The coronavirus crisis has nearly halted the local economy — including media advertising. That means local, independent news organizations such as ours must fight for our own survival while continuing to provide critical news and information as a public service during this unprecedented situation. If you believe local reporting is important and you're able to lend support during this pandemic, click here for info on making a tax-deductible donation.

Let’s keep an open mind as we enter the election season. I encourage your readers to not to necessarily vote for their registered party, but take a good look at the candidates who are running for office and pick the best one. Norm Needleman is one such candidate who deserves a good honest look from everyone in the 33rd Senate District, if we are truly serious about making changes in Connecticut.

If our goal is to stop the bleeding in Hartford by balancing a budget, bringing businesses into our state, and working in a bipartisan manner to get things done, Norm is the right person for the job. He is not just talking, he is doing.

He is a proven leader and a successful businessman who has accomplished these feats in Essex where he has been first selectman for eight years. He has developed and maintains balanced budgets each year. He is a job creator and has inspired economic development in Essex ,which now is home to more than 700 businesses and believe it or not has reduced taxes this year in a town that has one of the lowest tax rates in Connecticut.

Norm Needleman is an experienced professional who has a proven track record of working with both sides of the aisle to solve problems and get things done. Although he would be truly missed locally, his expertise would be invaluable in Hartford.

Whether they are Democrat or Republican, I encourage your readers to choose Norm as our next senator.
