Completely Frustrated

I have a 1986 Chevy pick-up truck with approximately 100,000 miles on it. This truck has been solely used for dump runs and wood collection, as I burn approximately six cords a season.

I received a tax bill from the Town of Clinton for the sum of $247.07 as the truck was assessed at $8,090. When I went to Town Hall to pay this bill, I was told I could contest this at the board of appeals hearing after obtaining classic plates, which I did in August.

I went to the Board of Assessment Appeals the end of September only to receive a response of reassessing my vehicle at $5,000. I took time off from work to attend the appeals meeting and lost substantial income due to this process only to be in almost the same situation. Am I completely frustrated? Yes! I’m truly confused by this new math.
