A True Vote for Democracy

Both of us are supporting and, by following our conscience on Nov. 6, will be helping to elect Madeleine Leveille for our District 35 General Assembly seat.

Madeleine is a voice for women and a voice for the middle-class. No longer can we trust the establishment, which has long since been bought and sold, to salvage our democracy. The two major parties seem to listen to their core base, while the rest of us go unrepresented. Can we be liberals who want more efficiency in government and lower taxes? Can we be conservatives who want a social safety net and healthy schools? Too often, we are told that we cannot, which is not fair and not right for democracy.

Do the two major political parties best represent the interests of the average American voter? Our experience shows us that the answer is in the negative.

A vote for Madeleine is a true vote for democracy. A vote for Madeleine is a vote for electoral choice and electoral reform. A vote for Madeleine is a vote against a polarized establishment that thinks it knows better than us who best represents our interests.

The time has come. We encourage your readers to vote Green and vote Madeleine on election day.
