A Collaborative Approach

As a candidate for the 12th District State Senate seat, Christine Cohen brings a wealth of experience to the job and decades of service to our community. Christine is a true leader with the problem-solving skills we need to get our state back on track. We must scrutinize each candidate for his or her necessary experience, temperament, and commitment. Christine has proven herself to be the superior candidate under these measures.

Christine owns a business in Madison, Cohen’s Bagel Company, so she understands the obstacles Connecticut’s small businesses face. From taxes to regulations, from payroll to marketing, Christine navigated her business to success. She cares about her employees and strives to provide them with the best work environment possible. In addition, Christine’s background in corporate marketing while in a leadership position at Black & Decker expands upon her understanding of business issues.

As a member of the Board of Education, I’ve watched Christine help form our school system into one of the top-ranked in the state. She has a collaborative approach to problem-solving, diving deeply into the facts around an issue and working to bring agreement around the resolution. Christine is adamant that both sides work together and is viewed by colleagues not just on the Board of Education, but on all town boards, as a consensus builder.

We’re fortunate to live in a community filled with volunteers who enhance our quality of life. Christine is the consummate volunteer, having served on The Community School Board, the Cox PTO Board, and the Christian Education Board at her church. Her company is a sponsor of the Smilow Cancer Center, and she raises money for her ride in the Closer to Free Race annually.

For these reasons, I’m supporting Christine Cohen for State Senate and I hope your readers will, too.
