Active, Dedicated, and Committed

I’m excited to support Jason Adler’s campaign for the State House of Representatives from District 35. Residents of Killingworth, Clinton, and Westbrook deserve an active, dedicated, and committed person of Jason’s caliber to represent us. As someone new to politics, inspired by the 2016 election results, he has worked tirelessly to learn what our communities need and how he can help us achieve our goals. I’m particularly impressed with his strong knowledge and support for health care issues. As a father, he understands the importance of preserving the ability for everyone to get affordable health care, even if a child is born with a condition that might prove medically costly, or if someone acquires such a pre-existing condition.

Unfortunately, our current representative, incumbent Republican Jesse Maclachlan, doesn’t appear to take his job too seriously. He has hosted few town meetings in Killingworth and has offered, on his own, no legislation that made it into law. When my husband tried to contact him in advance of a vote that we were concerned with, his office phone was answered by a general Republican line and the message left for him went unanswered. Jesse MacLachlan has a very low profile online and seems more concerned to look the part of a state representative than to be one. While he claims to be independent, in fact, he votes the party line almost all of the time.

By contrast, Jason Adler is the real thing—an educator, a husband, a father, and an amazing political candidate who has sacrificed an enormous amount of time and effort for the good of others. Our district needs a representative like him, our state needs him, our country needs him. I encourage your readers to vote for Adler on Nov. 6 and bring real representation back to our towns.
