Willing to Take a Stand

I would like to congratulate Christine Cohen on her endorsement from President Barack Obama as state senator for Connecticut’s 12th District. I couldn’t agree more with his statement that the candidates he is endorsing for the upcoming election “aren’t just running against something, but for something—to expand opportunity for all of us and to restore dignity, honor, and compassion to public service.” President Obama’s words are an apt reflection of Christine and her capacity to lead.

More than ever, we need leaders who represent all of us, and the best in all of us. Christine is a part of a wave of new voices who is willing to take a stand to make sure that how we govern our communities reflects the values that unite us for the good of all. In her public service to date, Christine has proven herself to be problem-solver who can bring people of different opinions and backgrounds together.

We need more people with her spirit in government, from the local level all the way to Washington. I wholeheartedly encourage your readers to join me in voting for her on Nov. 6.
