Time for a Different Direction

I am writing to support Bob Parente for state representative of the 99th Assembly District in East Haven on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Here is why. I’m taking a different approach to my message to our community; it is time for a new voice in Hartford, a person who sees and deals daily with the people of East Haven and their issues as the superintendent of public services. It’s time for a different direction, ideas, and a set of values that our state so desperately requires.

For me it’s not about politics, though I’m a Republican; it’s about presenting a new product to our people in East Haven. Bob wants to bring back common-sense values, fight to reduce taxes for our citizens, work to bring employers back to Connecticut, and keep our residents from moving out of their homes because it is too expensive to live here. It’s not rhetoric, it’s a fact. We all know that Connecticut is among the highest-taxed states in the country. This Malloy administration has seriously hurt the economy and the vibrancy of our state with the tax-and-spend philosophy.

I will say this: State Representative James Albis (D), the incumbent Bob is running against, is a nice guy, a true gentleman whom I personally have met and like, but he has been in this position since 2012 and is now considered part of the problem that the Malloy Democrats have presented us with. Now is not about promises or more political diatribe. We are in need of solutions.

I would encourage all voters registered of the 99th District to get out to vote and make their voices heard. We need solutions. I encourage your readers to vote for Bob Parente.
