The Path We Need

Over the past eight years, we have seen our governor and primarily Democratically controlled legislature practice out-of-control spending while businesses have been shuttered and historic tax increases were implemented. It is obvious our state is clearly on the wrong track. With this uncertainty, what are the Democrats offering for a solution?

After 40 years of a Democrat-controlled Legislature, Wallet Hub ranks Connecticut 49 out of 50 for the highest taxes in the country. We are the second-highest taxed state in the U.S.

Democrats have taken money out of the pockets of residents and as a result, we have endured many more months of poor economic growth, district businesses continue to struggle, and many of our neighbors cannot find work and make ends meet.

The legislators in Hartford simply do not understand how jobs are created. Here’s another example. Recently small business owners were handed a special assessment on borrowed money to pay for unemployment, even if they didn’t lay off anyone. How will this additional business cost help struggling small businesses?

In November, it is important that we vote for a candidate who understands how small businesses grow and become successful and prosper. State Senate candidate Adam Greenberg is a successful small business owner who will support pro-growth policies that will allow our small business owners to expand, hire, and thrive. This is the path we need to take to make Connecticut competitive again, not to continue the tax and spend philosophy in Hartford!
