Ready, Willing, and Honest

The truth is important to me. But its hard to come by, especially in politics. Jason Adler, the endorsed Democratic candidate for Assembly District 35, is honest and has a proven track record for fighting for all those he represents as a union president in the school district where he works. But he also lays out the truth recognizing the need for fiscally responsible budgets. He’s honest with those he speaks with concerning that fact, and that hard decisions have to be made for our state as a whole.

That is why I can’t believe what my representative to the Connecticut House announced in the Sept. 20 Harbor News.

“I have put politics aside and been an independent legislator, and this endorsement proves it,” stated Jesse MacLachlan (R-35) on his endorsement by Independent Party of Connecticut.

I have spoken to Jesse on multiple occasions, and in the moment he seems open to my concerns reiterated by many in the 35th District, but his voting record is focused on Connecticut GOP themes with little deviation.

Jesse MacLachlan’s voting record is almost perfectly in line with the GOP; 95 percent along party lines. That is not independent nor is it representative of the 35th District.

The truth is that Jesse MacLachlan is neither independent nor the honest and determined spokesperson we need in the Connecticut House of Representatives.

I’m voting for Jason Adler, the endorsed Democratic candidate for District 35, because he is ready, willing, and honest about the work he knows is needed for our state to prosper.
