I am writing to encourage your readers to support and re-elect Peter Barrett for Madison-Guilford probate judge.

For the past four years, Peter has served the people of Madison and Guilford as probate judge with genuine compassion and with a keen knowledge of the law. Both from personal observation and from speaking with other attorneys who have appeared before Peter, I can say that he has highest ethical standards and works tirelessly to address the needs of all parties. Peter has many years of experience working on probate matters and currently serves on both the Procedures Review Committee and Planning Committee for the Probate Assembly. He will be a presenter on conservatorship issues at the probate judges symposium at Central Connecticut State University in October.

Probate matters are often stressful and challenging and may be one of the few occasions many people come into contact with the legal system. Peter is professional and is prepared to apply the law to any matter before him, yet he has empathy for those who may be appearing in court for the first time or who may be involved in a contentious dispute.

On Nov. 6, I will vote Peter Barrett, judge of probate for Madison-Guilford.
