More Worldly Experience

I am writing in support of Madeleine Leveille, the Green Party’s endorsed candidate for state representative, representing the towns of Clinton, Killingworth, and a portion of Westbrook (District 35).

While I admire the noble intentions of her Democratic challenger Jason Adler and believe in the integrity of the Republican incumbent Jesse MacLachlan, Madeleine, quite simply, brings far more worldly experience to this position, most specifically as a woman and as a senior citizen, both of which I can relate to on a personal level.

Like many of my generation, I have grown tired and very worried about our ongoing two-party system that seems only to divide rather than unite. I can recall a time when elected officials would seek to compromise, if this meant a better community for our citizens. Now all I seem to see—from both parties—is self-aggrandizement and votes indebted to special interests. It’s time for this to stop! A vote for Madeleine Leveille on Nov. 6 will be a move in the right direction.
