Guided by Strong Values

I’ve been an observer of local politics for many years, but am particularly motivated to express my views in this election. It’s not only that I’m deeply concerned about human rights and how women and children are treated. I am motivated because I recently attended a public forum for candidates and was impressed by an extraordinary candidate, Christine Palm.

Christine is a candidate for state representative in the 36th House District. While this is her first run for elected office, she isn’t new to the political process or to the meaningful issues that affect us all. Christine Palm has worked as a consultant, researcher, and policy analyst for 10 years. Our state legislators have trusted her expertise on issues related to women, children, and seniors. She has consistently demonstrated her competence in legislative matters and is not a one-issue candidate.

Neither is she beholden to party politics. She’s authentic, guided by strong values, and believes that legislators work for the people they represent. As a working mother, former journalist and high school educator, and small business owner, Christine also has a breadth of real-life experience. She will fight for affordable healthcare, to protect state resources for local towns, ensure safety in schools, and work for job training and job creation. She will support an increase in the minimum wage and equal pay for women, and promote economic security for families and young people.

She understands the need for Connecticut to be fiscally sound. She knows that an improved infrastructure plan is vital to a strong Connecticut economy. Christine understands these issues because she has spent countless hours listening to concerned voters in Chester, Deep River, Haddam, and Essex. Now it is time for her to act. I encourage your readers to put her leadership to work for them.
