Will Fight for Local Control

I am writing this letter to support Christine Cohen’s run for State Senate for the 12th District.

Christine possesses many attributes that should assure voters that she will represent our district in an outstanding manner. She is a successful businesswoman, a dedicated presence in the community, and a caring member of Guilford’s Board of Education.

Her commitment to her quality education for every student is especially important to me. As a retired educator, I am deeply concerned with the direction that our schools could take if they follow the lead of our present administration and the head of the federal education department. I know Christine will fight for local control of our schools and will fight for funds to keep our schools offering quality educational opportunities for all students. She knows that the state needs to remain committed to producing a highly educated and diverse work force in order for the state to thrive.

I feel we are fortunate to have someone of Christine Cohen’s skills and talents to commit herself to run for our State Senate. I know she will work with an open mind with both Republicans and Democrats to solve the main issues that the state faces.
