Unsung Hero of the Opposition

People who have followed the effort to resist the placement of an industrial waste recycling facility in the wetlands area of Clinton know that I and many others have been very involved in coordinating these opposition efforts.

I am writing to let my fellow Clinton residents know that without the material and moral assistance of Norm Needleman, who is currently running for the State Senate position from the 33rd District, the opposition by Clinton people to the industrial waste facility in our wetlands would have been much more difficult and perhaps even impossible. Norm Needleman is the first selectman of Essex, but he is also an owner of industrial property in Clinton. His industrial operation, Tower Laboratories, abuts the slab where the industrial waste recycling facility was proposed. Early on, Norm joined with us Clinton residents in our firm opposition to the recycling facility.

Norm Needleman provided the abutting property intervenor legal status, the environmental experts, and the legal representation for our effort to oppose the recycling facility. By so doing, he proved that he is one of the most enlightened and concerned citizens who own property in Clinton. He is the true unsung hero of the opposition to the recycling facility on Route 145. I will be voting for him on Nov. 6 for the open seat for the 33rd State Senate District.
