Supporting the Library

The Scranton Library has moved and so have we, Scranton Library Friends (SLF). Last June, we held our Book Sale within the Scranton Memorial Library walls. We wish to say thank all who donated and shopped, making the sale a huge success. We’re hoping to have your support again this year at our new home.

Our community is mindful that on Oct. 8, the library began moving to its new location in North Madison on Route 79. It’s important that our community knows that SLF has moved as well. Thanks to the generosity of Davis Realty, SLF will be occupying the small house located at 114A Bradley Road, behind the Tuxis Laundromat.

For many years, the white house at 24 Wall Street was used as the book drop-off. With the construction underway, the entire library property will be fenced off from pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The new drop-off is at 114A Bradley Road, where a cabinet has been placed to receive donated books, CDs, DVDs, and textbooks.

SLF is hoping to be instrumental in making up some of the funding removed from the library’s budget this year. Patron donations and shopping will help. Our very first of three book/tag sales will be on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 8.

The Scranton Library gives support to the community. SLF gives support to the Scranton Library. The community gives support to SLF.
