Reasonable, Approachable, and Fair-Minded

This election is vitally important to Connecticut voters concerned about social, economic, and environmental issues. I support Norm Needleman for State Senate and Christine Palm for state representative because of their proven leadership.

As first selectman of Essex, Norm has kept property taxes among the lowest in the state, while at the same time maintaining services. He has accomplished this with shrewd financial planning and careful oversight, consistently demonstrating collaborative and competent leadership. As a small business owner, he manages a successful company and employs more than 200 local workers. He has also promoted increased commercial development in our town. He is a strong advocate for women, making equal pay a priority. He is also a strong supporter of increasing the minimum wage.

Christine Palm brings passion and expertise to her role as a first-time candidate. She has worked in state government as a researcher, consultant, and policy analyst on issues affecting the health and safety of women, children, and seniors. As a small business owner of a developing company, she provides consultation and training on sexual harassment policies and protocols. Christine is also deeply committed to equal pay for women, economic security for families, affordable healthcare, and protecting our valued lands and waterways.

Norm and Christine are reasonable, approachable, and fair-minded leaders who demonstrate the ability to work with both sides. They will work to improve educational opportunities in our towns, promote job creation, and bring a more promising prosperity to Connecticut. On Nov. 6, I will vote for Norm and Christine. I hope your readers will, too.
