Prepared to Take on Problems

I am proud to endorse John-Michael Parker for state representative of the 101st Assembly District. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing John-Michael since 1996 when he was in my 3rd grade class at Academy Elementary School—and even back then, his intelligence, his kindness, and his concern for those around him shone through.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve seen John-Michael succeed in high school (he was at Hand with my son), in college (he made all of his teachers proud by going to Yale), and then in the classroom, when he took after me (and so many others who taught him here in Madison Public Schools) and started his career as an elementary school teacher.

John-Michael still displays many of the traits I worked hard to instill in my students over the years: responsibility, respect, tolerance, and positivity. I am so proud and encouraged to know that he intends to build his life and his family here in our wonderful little town, and that he is prepared to take on the big problems our state is facing in Hartford as our representative. I believe that he will bring a sense of dignity to our politics, and the same creative, open-minded problem-solving attitude to our challenges that I’ve always known him to have.

This is why I’ll be voting for John-Michael Parker for state representative on Nov. 6.
