Caring Public Servant

A successful probate judge is knowledgeable, fair-minded, willing to consider a broad range of issues facing families and people with important life needs, and compassionate. Our current probate judge, Peter Barrett, meets all those criteria, and has demonstrated it for the past four years.

Peter is approachable and willing to share his expertise and experiences with any Madison or Guilford person who reaches out to him. He aided a friend with probate issues in another part of the state, not in his district, but because she needed advice and direction to solve some difficult family problems. Peter makes his home and cell phone numbers public.
