A Powerful Combination

As a retired educator in North Haven, I would encourage your readers to elect Theresa Ranciato-Viele as our state representative.

In 1999, Theresa lost her son, Jack Viele, to leukemia. This was devastating and many folks would have retreated from public life and from other children and families. Not Theresa. After meeting with Jack’s friends at Green Acres School, she explained his death, and arrangements were made to plant a tree in his memory.

Again, Theresa was determined to help others who found themselves in similar situations. Through her Rotary Club, she organized one of the largest bone marrow recruitments in the area. More than 400 folks registered at that event. It did not end there. We know that at least four people received bone marrow donations from that one registration. Theresa has organized and worked at additional registrations taking place in North Haven and New Haven as she became aware that minority children were dying more frequently due to lack of donors.

Theresa is a person of compassion and action. It is a powerful combination and certainly one that will work for us in North Haven. Theresa is determined to make a difference—let’s send her to Hartford to make a difference for all of us.
