Value-Based Leadership

I’ll vote for Christine Cohen for state senator of our 12th District on Nov. 6. Christine is intelligent, business-savvy, personable, humble, visionary, a good listener, an energetic volunteer, a well-respected community leader, and a loving parent and spouse. She has been endorsed by myriad and diverse organizations, including the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters, the National Association of Social Workers, NOW, and the Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters of Connecticut.

Christine has been a dedicated public servant in Guilford, having served on the Cox School PTO, the First Congregational Church Christian Education Board, the Guilford Land Conservation Trust, and currently on the Board of Education. She had years of corporate managerial experience at Georgia Pacific and Stanley Works and now runs her own successful small business, Cohen’s Bagels in Madison, which employs more than 30 and where she has taken steps to ensure her business operates in a sustainable, environmentally responsible way.

Christine will use her skills in our State Senate to help balance the state budget and to improve Connecticut’s economy. She understands the needs of large and small businesses and will work hard to attract new small businesses to Connecticut. She’ll continue to advocate for our district’s fine educational systems and work to protect the fragile coastline where we live. Her platform includes working for affordable healthcare for all, addressing unfair prescription drug costs, and promoting gun safety legislation, equal pay for men and women, and awareness programs to stem the state’s opioid crisis. She has already proved locally that she’s a conscientious and bipartisan public servant who understands fiscal, educational, social justice, health, safety, and environmental concerns. We’re fortunate to have a well-rounded candidate like Christine in our district! I hope your readers join me in voting for her and her value-based leadership for our State Senate.
