Understands the Challenges

Connecticut needs sensible legislators who understand both the promise of Connecticut and its challenges. Here in the 12th Senatorial District, we have such a candidate and her name is Christine Cohen.

For Guilford’s continued success and that of the whole state, we need healthy and vibrant transit options like Shore Line East. I know that Christine will work tirelessly with her legislative colleague State Representative Sean Scanlon (D-98) to seek ongoing improvements in this service and its connecting routes, Metro-North and CT Rail.

Guilford and Connecticut’s future requires thriving small businesses. As a small business owner, Christine understands the challenges they face and will bring that perspective to Hartford.

Guilford’s success depends on a vibrant region centered on New Haven. In cooperation with area legislators Christine will fight for this region in Hartford.

Christine knows that Connecticut needs its best and brightest to be educated in state, and to keep their talents here upon graduation. As a Board of Education member who has worked to keep the Guilford Public School System among the state’s best, I know she will bring that same energy and fight for UConn, our state colleges, and community colleges.

I am happy to have returned home to Guilford, my childhood home. During my years living in Boston’s suburbs, I saw the importance of legislators who believed in Boston’s promise. Their efforts made Boston a pre-eminent urban center. I see that same kind of vision in Christine Cohen and I know she and Sean Scanlon will work tirelessly to make Connecticut a growing and vibrant destination for citizens of all ages.

I encourage all voters in the 12th District to support Christine Cohen as she seeks this very important seat, for Guilford, and for Connecticut.
