Reminder of Hope and Possibility

I am writing to share a full-throated endorsement in the race for state representative of the 101st District for the candidate who I believe represents the change we need to see right now—not only in Hartford, but across our country.

John-Michael Parker grew up in Madison, graduated from Daniel Hand at the top of his class, and has spent the last 10 years working hard to bring the kind of educational opportunities he received here in Madison to over 20,000 students across the country with the organization he helped build, The Future Project.

I am proud—and so very encouraged—that he decided to return home, full of both personal and professional lessons, intent on doing what he can to improve and serve the community that made him who he is, and in which he wants to build his future. Too often of late has our politics devolved into partisan battles focused more on beating the other side than on moving the ball forward for all of us. John-Michael’s candidacy is a breath of fresh air, a reminder of hope and possibility, of vigor and new beginnings. And I am confident that if John-Michael earns the privilege of serving us in the state legislature, he will bring this sense of passion and the belief that things will get better to his work every single day, and in doing so, he will serve us well.

John-Michael is a serious, accomplished, capable man who is worthy of our trust. I am proud to endorse him, and hopeful for the future he represents.
