No Shortage of Work

I look forward to Nov. 6, when I can enthusiastically cast my vote for Christine Cohen for State Senate for District 12

I am a volunteer with K9 First Responders, an all-volunteer organization that provides site visits with therapy dogs to trauma victims and first responders. We participate in the first responders’ peer support groups immediately after a violent incident. Regrettably, there’s been no shortage of work for our teams due to the never-ending mass shootings the United States has experienced at the hands of sole gunmen.

Our teams have provided comfort, momentary distraction, and not nearly enough solace to hundreds of people across our country who have been psychologically scarred due to directly witnessing senseless death or losing loved ones to murder. If our dogs could talk about their experiences, they might tell about the endless tears shed, the trembling hands, or the dazed look in the eyes of the afflicted.

Christine Cohen is someone who will stand for these victims and work to curtail future mass shootings by honoring the Second Amendment while also advocating for common sense gun laws. She will champion background checks, encourage the prohibition of production and ownership of ghost guns, and support the curtailment of the sale of bump stocks that increase gun power and make massive death a more likely outcome if placed in the wrong hands. Christine is an endorsed candidate for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and is a mother herself who wants to protect all children from school shootings.

For these reasons, I will be voting for Christine Cohen on Nov. 6, and I hope your readers will do the same.
