More Than Up for This

As soon as I met Christine Cohen, I realized that she was the right person to fill the void that will be left when State Senator Ted Kennedy, Jr. retires. These are not easy shoes to fill, but Christine is more than up for this task.

Christine has the intelligence that we need in Hartford. She understands that we can’t just cut or tax our way out of the budget deficit we face, we need to grow our way out of it. As the owner of Cohen’s Bagels, Christine knows the barriers that can impede growth and the changes that are needed to ensure our state starts to prosper.

Christine has the compassion that is needed in Hartford. She understands that we need to lower healthcare costs and stop the unfair prescription drug gouging that harm seniors and people with pre-existing conditions. Christine also understands that children have the right to feel safe in school and the need to ban bump stocks and ghost guns.

Christine has the experience that we need in Hartford. In her role as the Guilford Board of Education chair, she has seen firsthand how decisions made at the state level impact our community. Christine will work across the aisle to ensure fair funding of education dollars.

I am proud that Christine has chosen to step up to the challenge of being our state senator and am proud to endorse her. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Christine Cohen on Nov. 6.
