Helping Neighbors in Need

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who donated toward our annual Back to School Program. This program has been essential in providing school-aged children in Guilford from low-income families with school supplies, backpacks, lunch boxes, new shoes, and even new haircuts thanks to a partnership with The Hair Cuttery’s Share-a-Haircut Program.

Once again, we experienced a very generous outpouring of support and we had a record number of donations this year. Donations came from businesses, civic and religious groups, and community organizations such as the Guilford Foundation and the Youth Advisory Group, Walmart, Guilford Newcomers, Guilford Savings Bank, Temple Beth Tikvah, North Guilford Congregational Church, Christ Episcopal Church, Whitfield Retirement Services, Clarity Software Solutions, and many others. Donations also came from private groups and clubs, individuals, and families whose children brought in back packs filled with school supplies. All were very much needed and appreciated. It shows how the Guilford community and beyond really cares and takes an interest in helping their neighbors in need.

Donors have made it possible for Guilford students in less fortunate circumstances to start the new school year on equal footing with their peers. This not only empowers, but also strengthens the positive values of Guilford youth in our community. On behalf of these families and their students, we offer thanks!
