Grateful and Overwhelmed

As the dust settles and we, the Family of Robert “Bobby” Smith, Jr., try desperately to recover after being blindsided by this evil called cancer, we can’t help but feel the need to somehow, some way, thank the people who have given so much during this difficult time of great sorrow.

We would like to take a moment to thank all of the wonderful people who helped during and after my husband’s cancer battle, including his nurse at the Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) emergency room, Erin Enderle; the many doctors and nurses at the YNHH St. Raphael’s campus, especially Samantha at ICU campus; Connecticut Hospice of Branford; Chis Palumbo of Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home in East Haven; East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr., and the entire East Haven Police Department; Anna Minichino; Gina Rapuano; Louis Criscio; Albert Pacileo of Pacileo’s Pizza; Dave and Rose Clough, owners of Crown East Billiards; and last but not least, the hundreds of friends, neighbors, and family members from the community and beyond who took to time to express their condolences and just be there.

We are also so grateful to all the local businesses for their generous donations for the Tribute Ride, Car Show, and Pool Tournament held in memory of my husband, Bobby. We are also very grateful to all who donated to the GoFundMe page, as well as to those who participated in and attended the tribute event to Bobby.

This outpouring of love, kindness and support will never be forgotten. Our family is very grateful and overwhelmed by so much support during this difficult time.
