Drive and Determination

I write today to express my enthusiastic support for Robin Comey to be our next state representative from the 102nd District.

I first met Robin more than 10 years ago at a meeting of the Branford Board of Education. I listened to her passionately advocate for programming that supported the whole child, such as foreign language and the arts. No one left that room unimpressed.

Since then, I have watched Robin champion many initiatives to which she always commits herself fully, whether it be ensuring that low income children receive quality preschool or partnering with local businesses to develop a townwide Market Math program for 3rd graders. She also worked diligently for the passage of the state law that allows school bus drivers to administer an EpiPen shot to children with potential fatal allergic reactions to bee stings or foods such as peanuts, eggs, and shellfish.

Now serving as the executive director of the Branford Early Childhood Collaborative, she has carried these honed advocacy skills to the General Assembly in Hartford. She engages legislators, parents, and other community members to fight for HUSKY, Care4Kids, and other essential programs for children and families.

In my years as a school psychologist, I have seen few people who have Robin’s drive and determination. Her no nonsense, “roll up your sleeves and get things done” work ethic is what we need in Hartford. She is a person of intelligence, a person of conviction, a person of passion, and a person of integrity. It is obvious, she is the best candidate for state representative for the 102nd District. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Robin on Nov. 6.
