Vision, Effectiveness, and Dedication

I look forward to voting for Robin Comey for state representative for the 102nd District.

I met Robin six years ago at a PTA meeting at Sliney Elementary School, when she served on the executive board as secretary. At that time, I was seeking support for a renovation of a rusty town playground that doubled as the school playground for Sliney School students. Unfortunately, up until the time I met Robin, my requests for assistance on this project were not successful.

Robin, however, took interest and for the first time this badly needed upgrade seemed a real possibility. Robin partnered with me: She connected me with the town Parks & Recreation Department, effectively recruited other interested parents, and she helped to secure funding from private resources so that town funding could be enhanced. Robin focused on building strategic support for this project and knew how to get backing from the relevant decision makers who could get the job done.

Beyond her hard work, Robin believed in the grassroots efforts of ordinary citizens to create change. She believed that a group of moms could make an actual difference, and that belief ignited and inspired others to have confidence in our efforts. The playground at Hammer Field in Branford is there today in large part due to Robin’s vision, effectiveness, and dedication to Branford, its citizens, and most of all, its kids.

Robin cares about my community and the people who live here. For as long as I’ve known her, I’ve found her to be a strong collaborator, responsive to those around her, and an effective listener. Her leadership skills will ensure that our interests are represented in Hartford. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for a true leader on Nov. 6.
