I am proud to endorse John-Michael Parker for state representative of Madison and Durham.

Where to begin with someone who has inspired me in so many ways? I am so impressed with all the hard work and energy John-Michael puts forward and his commitment to positive change for the future. He has the skill to listen to people and the intelligence to come up with new ideas to help others.

The way I have seen John-Michael treat people is amazing. You can be in a room full of people and when he speaks to you, it feels like it’s just you and him. John-Michael makes you feel important and he listens intently on what you are concerned about and sincerely wants to find ways to address your issues. He is creative, smart, and kind, and he sets goals and will intently work late into the night to find ways to accomplish them.

For me, my goal was to go to the USA Special Olympics games in Seattle, Washington. I worked hard to get that opportunity. I trained every day. I won gold in singles tennis and won silver in doubles, so I recognize how hard work pays off. I have seen John-Michael work hard—he puts his all into anything he is involved in. I believe him when he says he wants to work to improve life in Madison and Durham for everyone. He grew up in Madison and just like me he truly loves our town. Now, John-Michael is out knocking on doors to talk to people and listen to their concerns so he can best represent them. I believe his hard work will pay off and benefit all of us.

I will be voting for John-Michael Parker for state representative on Nov. 6.
