One Last Time

On behalf of the Branford Project Graduation Committee, I would like to thank all of the businesses and community organizations that donated food, raffle prizes, or money to this year’s event, which took place on June 12 at Walsh Intermediate School. With their help, we were able to provide the Class of 2018 with a safe, substance-free, fun evening after graduation. This year’s graduates had a great time celebrating together one last time before moving on to the next step toward reaching academic and career goals. This year we were blessed to receive donations from 87 businesses and community organizations. For the complete list, please visit our website at www.branfordprojectgraduation.weebly.com.

Thanks go to the Branford Community Foundation for the generous grant that allowed us to have enough activities throughout the evening to keep the graduates entertained, especially in the wee hours of the night. Thanks go to Branford Board of Education for offering to donate security, and to the Branford Parks & Recreation Department for donating lifeguards to make sure our graduates stayed safe in the pool.

A big thank you goes to the volunteers who spent many hours planning the event and organizing the activities, and we could not have done it without the amazing people who volunteered their time to set-up, decorate, register the students, serve food, supervise the activities, and clean up. We are especially indebted to those who worked the overnight shift! (Project Graduation runs from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) Thanks go to the wonderful custodians at Walsh Intermediate School who assisted with making sure that the event ran smoothly. They were ready to help whenever we needed it and we truly appreciated their assistance.

Branford is an incredible community—thanks for the support!
