Rather Mean-Spirited

It’s a very sad state of affairs in the town of Madison when a few unhappy homeowners can shut down a joyous summer event. The music on the Grassy Strip was fun, free, and enjoyed by many adults and children alike; lots of singing, dancing, and joy under a starry summer evening.

When you think about the time frame for the music on the Grassy Strip, it was a total of two hours, one evening a week for six weeks. It seems rather mean-spirited for a small group to destroy something that was such a fun summer event for everyone in Madison.

Rather than the local neighbors looking at the music as annoying, they should try to look at the happiness it brought others. My family has a home near the Surf Club and we put up with bright lights, games, and cars racing up and down Surf Club Road. It’s all part of being good neighbors.
