A Slick Application

The proposed U-Haul storage facility is an abomination. As the Planning & Zoning Commission deliberates, I invite residents to come and observe as I did on May 2. There will be a second, one-hour meeting again soon. It is clearly a slick application presented by a large company with little regard for the character of our town.

It is 50,000 square feet, orange, and lit all night with a line of U-Haul trucks along the road. There is no reason those truck have to be along the road except to advertise. There is no reason not to make it a more modest size, in keeping with the area. The development of the Fonicello property is an example of how to make development work with your community.

This orange eyesore is the opposite.
