Young students and men and women of all ages depend on the Scranton Library when searching for facts and truth, while we are bombarded daily with prejudiced propaganda, lies, and half-truths from various other sources.
I personally depend on the guidance of the dedicated and knowledgeable individuals of the library staff to help me find what I need for my research. The Scranton Library being a locally available source of information is important to me, as I am sure it is important to many others.
Expansion of the Scranton Library is vital, but it would be a travesty to cut back on helpful staff during construction. As a matter of fact, the expansion may even require an increase in staff to handle all the moving and changes involved.
We depend on the talented, educated and helpful staff at the Scranton Library. During the expansion, we should not cut the budget and walk backward. We should keep all those active men and women on the library staff so they may continue to properly serve the citizens of Madison.
