I encourage members of the Board of Finance to reconsider their plan to cut our library’s budget by $300,000, especially since the library has offered to take a $100,000 cut, which would already require some changes.

Cutting the library budget so severely will result in less hours, accessibility, especially during hours like weekends when our young people access these important services, especially during this important transition time.

The library is one of the foremost providers of quality of life for all of Madison.
