The Real Thing

Our current legislative session will address the rising cost of prescription drugs, the opioid crisis, end-of-life care, a woman’s reproductive rights, health care for women and children, the national popular vote, climate and environmental issues, the sale of bump stocks, and whether firearms will be allowed in our state parks.

These times demand elected officials who are up for the job. I recently had the opportunity to hear Christine Palm, candidate for state representative in the 36th District (Chester, Haddam, Deep River, and Essex) discuss issues central to her campaign. In addition to an astute awareness of the above concerns, she is committed to fight for sound fiscal policies, economic security for all families, pay equity, an increase in the minimum wage, and initiatives for small businesses. She is also committed to ensuring quality education in our local towns and supporting measures to reduce the burden of student loans. Christine also understands the need to improve infrastructure statewide, and to protect the environment in the lower river valley. Further, she is determined to defend Medicare and Social Security, and to address the challenges of our diverse communities and an aging population.

Christine is the real thing. She is clear, honest, informed, and committed. She demonstrates courage and the willingness to address the hard issues. She has a genuine concern for our local communities and their needs. She will represent her constituents with competent leadership and restore renewed confidence in our elected officials to govern with integrity and the dignity of their office.

The time is now. The power is ours. The choice is clear. I encourage your readers to support the candidate who will be their voice, Christine Palm for state representative in the 36th District.
